Duties and Responsibilities: Medical illustrators are artist that work in the medical field by detailing drawings of healthy and diseased body parts to show the effects of illnesses. They also build models of the body and its parts for lectures or seminars. The most important part of their job is to create artificial parts of the body such as an arm or an eye for the patient’s that needs them.      

Salary: $85,000-$175,000

Education: Most Medical Illustrators need a bachelor’s degree and they have to take some courses in the biological sciences and in art. They must show some artwork they have made and go to graduate training programs for medical illustrators which us up to 2-3 years.


Reflection: Would you like to be one? Why? Why not?

I don’t think I would like to be one because I’m not good at drawing realistic drawing of the human body and body parts but if I were to be good at drawing that then it might have captured my attention.
